Last updated: January 1, 2026
1. Overview
TIO Auto Parts Inc ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, create an account, or place an order, how we use and protect it, and the choices available to you. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
This policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions, which govern your use of our website and any purchases you make from us.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when you register an account.
- Order and shipping information: billing and shipping address, vehicle fitment details (year/make/model), order history, and communications related to your order (e.g. return requests, support inquiries).
- Payment information: limited payment details (such as card type and last 4 digits) needed to confirm and reconcile a transaction. Full card numbers are never stored on our servers - see Section 5.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse our website.
- Vehicle/fitment preferences: the "My Vehicle" selection you save in your browser to help us show parts that fit your vehicle - this is stored locally in your browser and is not required to create an account.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To process and fulfill your orders, including payment processing, shipping/pickup arrangements, and order confirmations.
- To manage your account, authenticate your login, and provide customer support (including return/warranty requests).
- To communicate with you about your order status, shipping updates, return/RMA status, and - where you have not opted out - promotional offers.
- To improve our website, product catalog, and fitment accuracy, and to detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or misuse of our services.
- To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
5. Payment Data & Security
- All online payments are processed through a secure, PCI-compliant third-party payment gateway. Your full credit card number and security code are transmitted directly and securely to our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
- We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards (such as encrypted connections, restricted access, and secure hosting) to protect the personal information we do store.
- While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining your account, honoring warranty and return periods (see our Terms & Conditions), and complying with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- You may access, review, and update your account information at any time by signing in to your account.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, subject to any legal or legitimate business reasons for retaining it (e.g. active orders, warranty/return records, tax obligations).
- You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time using the unsubscribe link included in those emails; you will still receive transactional messages related to your orders (e.g. order confirmations, shipping updates).
- To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 11.
9. Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your province). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
- To help prevent use of our services by children, account registration requires you to confirm that you are at least the age of majority in your province of residence (see our Terms & Conditions, Section 7 - User Accounts) before you can create an account or place an order.
- We do not knowingly permit anyone who does not meet this age requirement to register an account, and we may request additional information to verify age where we have reason to believe it has not been accurately provided.
- If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent or age verification, we will take reasonable steps to promptly delete that information from our records.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of our website after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
